EcomLabs builds the storefronts, custom apps, integrations and web systems ecommerce teams run on — designed and shipped by the same people, so nothing is lost between the file and production.

01 / Fit

Who this studio is for, and who it isn't

The fastest way to know whether to write to us. If you recognise yourself on the right, we will say so in the first reply.

A good fit

  • Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants with a real catalog and someone accountable for it.
  • Ecommerce teams who know what needs building and want it built properly the first time.
  • Agencies that need an engineering partner they can put in front of their own client.
  • Merchants outgrowing a theme that has been edited past the point of safe repair.
  • Anyone who needs a Shopify app — public, custom or private — that has to pass review.

Not a fit

  • Brand strategy, campaign creative, media buying or content production.
  • A first store with no products yet — a good theme will serve you better, and cost far less.
  • Work that needs invented case studies, guaranteed percentages or a growth deck.
  • “Make it look like this site” with no access to the store, its data or its constraints.

We would rather lose a project at the first email than take one we would run badly.

How it is actually made

One component, all the way down

A product card is where design and engineering stop being two jobs. Here is the same object at six depths — the surface a shopper touches, and everything underneath that has to be true for it to work.

02 / Integrations & platforms

Your store, wired to the systems around it

ERP, POS, feeds and tracking, connected with idempotent syncs, retries and logging you can act on — so a slow upstream API is an alert, not a corrupted catalog.

Ecomly — AI Product Content

Ecomly helps Shopify merchants improve product content faster. It drafts titles, descriptions, bullet points, SEO titles, meta descriptions, image alt text and FAQs using only the product data already in your store. You choose which products and fields to work on, review every draft, and apply changes when you're ready. It backs up the previous content before applying, so you can revert.

  • Draft titles, descriptions, bullets, SEO and image alt text in one step
  • Bulk-optimize many products with a preview for each one
  • Stays factual — uses only your product data and never invents claims
  • Automatic backups and one-click revert before anything changes

02 / How we work

What an engagement leaves behind

Three things get agreed before code starts, repeat every week while it runs, and stay with you after it ships.

Engagement record
Registers 03Owner after launch You

Scope

  1. Goals, catalog size and every system the store has to talk to.
  2. What this build includes — and, written down, what it does not.
  3. Milestones, and who signs off each one.
  4. The stack decision, with the reason it was made.
  5. A fixed quote against that scope.
  6. How a change request gets priced, agreed before there are any.

Cadence

  1. MonPlanning — what this week is for
  2. TueBuild
  3. WedBuild
  4. ThuQA across devices
  5. FriReview and ship

A rhythm you can plan a quarter around. You always know what shipped, what is next and what is blocked.

Discovery

We start by understanding your store & goals

Before writing code we map your catalog, stack, constraints and what success looks like — then agree a scope with clear milestones.

Build & QA

Clean builds, checked before launch

We build on Shopify or your platform with documented, maintainable code — and verify it across devices, performance and accessibility.

Measure & iterate

Improvements grounded in real data

After launch we instrument the funnel and iterate with CRO and experiments — reporting plainly on what each change achieved.

  • Analytics and event tracking set up cleanly
  • CRO experiments and A/B tests, prioritized by impact
  • Plain before/after reporting on each change

FAQ

What does EcomLabs actually do?
We're an ecommerce engineering studio. We build and optimize Shopify stores, custom and public Shopify apps, integrations, automations and web systems — plus the technical side of CRO, analytics and SEO. We focus on implementation, not strategy decks.
Do you only work with Shopify?
Shopify is our core, but we also build on BigCommerce, WordPress, WooCommerce, Webflow, and with React and Next.js for custom storefronts, dashboards and web systems.
Are you a marketing or ads agency?
No. We don't run paid media, PR or social campaigns. We handle the technical side — landing pages, tracking, feeds, analytics and integrations — for teams that already have a growth strategy.
How do you charge?
Every engagement is scoped and quoted transparently — project-based, a monthly development retainer, app builds, or focused optimization sprints. No lock-in and no invented package pricing.
Do you make performance or revenue guarantees?
No. We don't promise specific conversion or revenue numbers. We commit to a rigorous, measured process and report honestly on what each piece of work achieved.
Can our team maintain the work after launch?
Yes. We build with clean, documented, editor-friendly code and hand over what your team needs to run and extend the store or system independently.
